Born into a family of musicians, she began piano study at the age of three and made her orchestral debut at just five years old. In 1998, she entered the Moscow Central Music School of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory as a student of Tamara Koloss.

Earning her Bachelor's, Master's, and equivalent of a Doctor of Arts degree at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory under Professor Ludmila Roshchina, she continued her training in the United States with a full-tuition scholarship at Park University’s International Center for Music. There, she achieved an Artist Diploma in Piano Performance in 2020 under the guidance of Van Cliburn Gold Medalist Stanislav Ioudenitch

She subsequently pursued a Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance at USC Thornton School of Music from 2021 to 2025 under Stewart Gordon, while concurrently serving as a Graduate Assistant Lecturer.

She received her Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance from the USC Thornton School of Music in 2025, where she studied under the mentorship of Professor Dr. Stewart Gordon. From 2022 to 2025, she served as a Graduate Assistant Lecturer at Thornton.

In addition to her formal studies, she has taken part in master classes with international artists and professors such as Mikhail Voskresensky, William Grant Naboré, Dang Thai Son, Vladimir Viardo, and Jan Jiracek von Arnim.

Evangeliya is the 1st Prize Winner of the USC Concerto Competition in 2024, 1st Prize Winner of the Les Grandes Concours Internationales D'été in Los Angeles in 2023, 3rd Prize Winner of the Sixth NTD International Piano Competition in New York in 2022.

She has been playing in prestigious venues for classical music performances such as Alfred Cortot Hall and Hall Theatre du Chatelet in Paris (France), Hall of the Palace the UN in Geneva (Switzerland), Enschede’s Musical Center in the Netherlands, Conservatorio di Musica Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina in Cagliari (Italy), Latvian Academy of Music in Riga (Latvia), Lithuanian National Philharmonic Society in Vilnius (Lithuania), Austrian Russian Culture Institute in Vienna (Austria), Athens Conservatoire in Greece, The Embassy of Russian Federation in Tokyo (Japan), The Embassy of Russian Federation in Washington D.C., Carnegie Weill Recital Hall in New York, Baruch Performing Arts Center in New York, Kauffman Center Merkin Concert Hall in New York, Soka Performing Arts Center in California, Zipper Hall of the Colburn School in Los-Angeles, USC Newman Recital Hall in Los Angeles, Bovard Auditorim at USC in Los Angeles, California Center for the Arts in Escondino, Munson Recital Hall at Azusa Pacific University, Peabody Conservatory Goodwin Recital Hall in Baltimore, Amarnick-Goldstein Concert Hall in Boca Raton (FL), Historical Raymond Theatre (WA). She has been performing in the best venues in Moscow, including the halls of the Moscow Conservatory, Moscow International Performing Arts Center, Tchaikovsky Concert Hall at the Moscow Philharmonic, Armory Chamber of Kremlin, The Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, Moscow State University, Beethoven Concert Hall in the Bolshoi Theatre.

Additionally, she is a constant partner and collaborative pianist of her husband, Igor Khukhua, a violinist with worldwide recognition and Assistant Concertmaster of the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra.

Other career highlights include appearances live on Kansas Public Radio and on Seattle’s Classical music radio station, Classical KING-FM 98.1. 

Evangeliya is currently on the faculty at Chapman University Hall-Musco Conservatory of Music. She has been employed as a collaborative pianist at the Moscow State Bolshoi Ballet Academy of Choreography and at the Vocal Department of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory. 

With a multicultural background rooted in Greek, Russian, and Korean heritage, Evangeliya brings a holistic approach to music education—one that values cultural awareness, artistic depth, and individual growth—as she mentors the next generation of musicians. In her free time, she delves into classical literature, poetry, and arthouse cinema—artistic pursuits that inspire her interpretive imagination and teaching philosophy.
